Workforce Development Chapter Toolkit

The HIMSS Emerging Healthcare Leaders Task Force created resources for chapters that enhance their students and members career development and interaction with HIMSS. These toolkits cover three areas: mentoringnetworking and a general HIMSS 101 overview.

Chapter Provided Student Scholarships

Chapters are welcome to provide scholarships to students. Chapters have the autonomy to manage the scholarship process however the board decides is best. Chapters are welcome to use and/or edit the scholarship template as a resource.

Continuing Education Units

Chapters are pre-approved by HIMSS to provide continuing education hours toward renewal of the CPHIMS and the CAHIMS. Education put on by the chapter can be claimed as credit hours by your members and attendees. Including CEU hours in event promotion is an excellent way to improve attendance and attract those members that are in need of education hours to retain their certifications. Refer to himss.org for more information on HIMSS certifications.

The linked FAQ goes through the process for chapters in providing CE credits at your educational events.
